awwww, it's so hard to find someone love sting, rod, bryan in the mean time love tsai chin. i introduced some of her songs to the white boys around here. they love her singing. she's being herself. 美好是没有国界的。 she's good at presenting 美好. when i made them to listen to the song "somewhere over the rainbow" they told me that she's a pro.she is one of those people makes me so proud to be a Chinese.
great music is beyond boundaries.. you'll envy me as I've attended a vocal jazz concert singing by Tsai Chin few years ago at Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. i was overwhelmed when she was singing Frank Sinatra's "flying to the moon".... oh, she's good at singing jazz, can you imagine? :)
well, she better get ready. i'll get someone to ask her to sing that when i am going to the concert. i know she has sung "Do that to me one more time", "Fly on a jet plane". probably a lots from "cats", "les miserables"? what else has she sung in English? she doesn't do that often in the commercial concert. sounds like she is avoiding sing them. why????:(:(:(

wish i had a good memory :( ... my attending the jazz concert could be back to 1996 after reading the clipping (http://www.dizzy.org.tw/)....there's one thing for sure it's a surprise to me to see tsai chin and dizzy jazz band playing jazz music together in perfect way.
tsai chin is very demanding for herself especially everything on the stage (e.g. music, mic, instruments, speakers etc) as i've watched her rehearsals last year, you can say that's why she's a great singer as she has been asking herself to be 100% engaged and focused prior to any performance.
well, i'm dreaming to hear tsai chin singing jazz again...
btw, as i know besides the jazz concert, she was ever singing "over the rainbow" at the concert in HK, you can find it at her cd ( 蔡琴/演唱會Live一起走來 2001)
i tried to be a jazz virgin and pick up some conversations on the section of jazz over tsai chin's web site. nobody cared. no wonder she's never had any jazz concert somewhere else except in TW. i wonder if dizzy will do that with her in Beijing. if i were her agent, i might take a risk. now, i am talking silly again......
o, i can tell that she aims high. there is never a question about that for sure.

民歌或老歌都是蔡琴的經典招牌歌曲, 讓我訝異的是她不會講台語, 但卻可以把台語歌曲無論發音, 咬字或詮釋都臻於完美, 這就是蔡琴!!!
英文爵士樂曲是她多年前的ㄧ個新的嘗試, 我想如果有一天蔡琴自己覺得可以將英文歌曲演唱的水準達到如她唱中文歌般完美, 她會唱的 :) 她就是如此要求完美!不過以上僅是我的揣測....
其實1996年的爵士樂演唱會, 我已經給她100分了, bravo! bravo!

我覺得她不是不想唱英文歌, 也許是對自己要求完美, 所以比較少唱, 還有她能唱的中文歌實在太多了, 而且又唱得這麼好!

about the 英文歌, she might be worried if there is enough audience.

how is dizzy doing in tw? are they popular within the young audience?
are they popular within the young audience? i doubt it, seems they love pop music more than jazz. up to now, dizzy jazz band still hold some live concert sometimes.
